November 11, 2007

The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.
Romans 13:11

Each and every Sunday we come together as a family and as a body of believers here at Prestoncrest. The purpose of this email, sent to our entire congregation, is to help us focus on the first day of the week, preparing to gather together to partake of the Lord’s Supper and to praise and worship God.

Prayer Time

Hebrews 13:17

Prayertime is our opportunity to stand before the throne and lift our prayers to our almighty Father. The Elders of this church have been called to a humbling responsibility: to lead, watch over, protect and guide the body here at Prestoncrest. Sunday we as a church will come together and pray for our Shepherds as they lead this church into the future.

Communion

1 Corinthians 11:23-30

In scripture we are encouraged to examine ourselves before we share the bread and the cup. Let us prepare to come together and eat the sacred feast with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Special Focus

“Seeing The Unseen”
Hebrews 11:1

Sunday we will complete a faithful process of prayer and commitment to the Lord. Seeing the Unseen culminates on November 11.

Sermon

Where Do We GROW From Here?” (Matt Mazza)
John 15:1-17

“I am the vine; you are the branches. … apart from me you can do nothing.”
`We have two choices, we can either stand by idly, waiting to see what happens, or we can stand up and commit ourselves fully to God’s plan for each of our lives.

What a blessing it is to be a part of a family that seeks to love, encourage and worship just as you do. Over the next few days leading up to the time in which we all come together please remember that we are all a part of the body of Christ and that we need one another. Praise God for the opportunity that we all have to worship our almighty God and for the blessings that we receive as his children. Come this Sunday with a desire to not just come to church, but come to truly be the church.

Sunday Evening

In Remembrance of Me (Brad Weldon)
1 Corinthians 11:23-30

Come back on Sunday night as Brad describes, in detail, the upper room and the last supper our Lord had with his disciples.
