Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven’s perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you’re holding is the great I am.
 - Mary Did You Know - Mark Lowry

Each and every Sunday we come together as a family and as a body of believers here at Prestoncrest. The purpose of this email, sent to our entire congregation, is to help us focus on the first day of the week, preparing to gather together to share the Lord’s Supper and to praise and worship God.

Prayer Time

Mark 16:15

His instructions were simple and yet to the point. “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” Jesus instructed us to share His message of hope and salvation throughout all of the world and that is what we here at Prestoncrest seek to do. This morning during our prayer time we want to focus our prayers on the fertile soil of the mission field in Eastern Europe. God has great plans for the spreading of His message in Eastern Europe and we must be prayerful about how He can use us within His plan.

Communion

Luke 22:39-44

The baby Jesus was born … to die. That was the plan from the beginning. The scripture shows us that Jesus did not want to die on the cross, but that he submitted his will to that of the Father and their plan. As our country focuses on the “baby Jesus,” let us remember the purpose of his birth and the sacrifices that Jesus made. He sacrificed his body to death on the cross and he sacrificed his will to be spared to the greater plan. Remember, he did it for you.

Sermon

“Breath of Heaven: An Act of Courage” (Bob Chisholm)
Luke 2:8-15

I think a lot of things about the birth of Jesus, but courage is not the first thought that comes to mind. What was courageous about it? This baby amazed the wise men, drew the shepherds from their fields and sent fear into the heart of the great King Herod. Come and join us this Sunday as we explore in more detail who was there when the Savior was born and more importantly what part they played in The Birth of a Savior.

We are encouraged to be a family of believers that choose to come together each week in worship. Come this Sunday with a desire to not just come to church, but come to truly be the church.

December 9, 2007

Go to sleep my son
Baby, close your eyes
Soon enough you’ll save the day
But for now, dear child of mine
Oh my Jesus, sleep tonight
 - Joseph’s Lullaby - MercyMe

Each and every Sunday we come together as a family and as a body of believers here at Prestoncrest. The purpose of this email, sent to our entire congregation, is to help us focus on the first day of the week, preparing to gather together to share the Lord’s Supper and to praise and worship God.

Prayer Time

Mark 5:19

The Christmas season is a special time to think about Jesus. It is also a time for family: children, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins; gathered together in celebration. As we share our regular time together in prayer this week, remember your family. Bring them before God, thanking Him for your family, asking for His blessings.

Communion

Matthew 26:20

“When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve.”
It was customary for the Jews to take their time as they ate the Passover feast. The Greek word for recline infers relaxing and taking time. Jesus “reclined with the Twelve” to discuss the “new covenant” that we call the Lord’s Supper. We too should “take our time” as we take of the bread and the cup and truly remember.

Sermon

“Breath of Heaven: An Act of Love” (Matt Mazza)
Matthew 1:23

Last Sunday, we talked about the moment that was to come, prophesies about the Messiah. This Sunday, we will talk about the moment itself, the moment He was born. Some of our children will be assisting Matt in telling the story of Jesus’ birth. Why did He come in the way He did? It was the moment that would forever change the world. The moment in time that the world had been waiting for, and yet, few really even new it came.

We are encouraged to be a family of believers that choose to come together each week in worship. Come this Sunday with a desire to not just come to church, but come to truly be the church.

“I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:10b-11

Each and every Sunday we come together as a family and as a body of believers here at Prestoncrest. The purpose of this email, sent to our entire congregation, is to help us focus on the first day of the week, preparing to gather together to partake of the Lord’s Supper and to praise and worship God.

Prayer Time

2 Thessalonians 1:11

Prayertime is our time to be together, lifting our prayers to our Father in heaven. Sunday morning, we will ask you to spend Prayer Time praying for someone else in our church family. So think in advance about our congregation and about people in our church for whom you can bring to God during Prayer Time.

Communion

Isaiah 48:10-11

Some time ago a lady, curious about the process of refining silver, visited a silversmith. During this time he fully described the procedures involving intense heat and waiting. As the lady was leaving the shop, the silversmith called her back, and said he had forgotten to mention that the only way that he knows when the process of purifying is complete is when he sees his own image reflected in the silver.

Do you feel like you are being refined? Does life seem to consume you? Come gather with us around the table Sunday morning, as we are ALL being refined in one way or another for the Glory of God.

Sermon

“Breath of Heaven: An Act of Promise” (Bob Chisholm)
1 Corinthians 15:45-47

Long before the angel appeared to Mary, God began His plan of salvation. The “Breath of Heaven” came into the world as an infant, born in a manger to die on the cross. This Sunday, we begin a 4-part series on the birth of Jesus and the hope that He brings to the world. The special Christmas worship, on the evening on December 23, will be the pinnacle of this series as we celebrate the birth and give praise to God for His plan, Jesus.

We are encouraged to be a family of believers that choose to come together each week in worship. Come this Sunday with a desire to not just come to church, but come to truly be the church.

Sunday Evening

The Doors” (Matt Mazza)
Matthew 7:8

Doors are placed in front of us everyday and we must make choices about whether or not to walk through them. Is that the door that God wants me to walk through? Join us on Sunday night as we examine the many different doors before us and how we know which door is the one that leads to Him.

Communion

Luke 22:19

And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” Thank you God; for the miraculous birth of your son, the amazing example of the life he lived and the eternal salvation that is given to each of us in His death.

Sermon

Ezekiel 8:1-17

When Jesus was asked about the most important commandment, he gave two answers. Both answers focused on relationships, one with God, the other with people. Sunday morning, Bob will look the story of Israel in Ezekiel 8 and how God showed the importance of both relationships. How does that relate to us today? Join us this Sunday to find out.

What a blessing it is to be a part of a family that seeks to love, encourage and worship just as you do. Over the next few days leading up to the time in which we all come together please remember that we are all a part of the body of Christ and that we need one another. Praise God for the opportunity that we all have to worship our almighty God and for the blessings that we receive as his children. Come this Sunday with a desire to not just come to church, but come to truly be the church.
