I see that benevolence was listed in the suggestions of how to make our church better. It is important to help those outside the church who are poor and disadvantaged. However, there are those inside the church who fall into that catagory. We are a very well blessed congregation and financially well to do, but there are some people and families in need of benevolence in our congregation. It has saddened me to see the food pantry go by the wayside. That is one way the church can easily help those in need. Won't the members of Prestoncrest consider donation of some well needed supplies and food for those who need it?

I hope that by "enhance singing during worship" that we would NOT consider a "praise team" or instruments. We are God's creation- the best instrument we have is our voice and together, we are the most beautiful Praise Team around! Just my humble opinion...

Mike,

I'd like to see email lists that I could join (opt-into) to receive periodic (weekly/monthly) emails for different topics.
These could all be on auto responders, batch content each produced by a different volunteer. Perhaps, uploading could be done by a volunteer too, to take the load off of you.

Like...
1. Current events- Jill's health and happiness list
2. Focus on the 1st day-Sermon topics, thought provoking ideas
3. Weekly email about my class-topic, homework, ref. links, suggested reading, etc.
a. Life Long Love
b. Searchers
c. Singles
d. others
4. Involvement Ministry-How to learn about church ministries, list of ministries, who to see, what to do, events beginners can attend to learn about that group
a. Ex: soldier ministry- come pack boxes this week, etc.
b. Special Introduction events/classes, etc.,
c. links to ads (video of PPT or pictures?)about what each group does, how it works, how I can be useful
d. Ex: Ad door holder and greeter ministry wants helper, contact Bob at 999-0000 or bob@ucandoit.org
5. New to the area- email list-intro info about PC and area, contacts, church events for new people
6. Baptism info

I'd suggest there be a way to opt in and out of the list easily.

Well you asked! :-)

Thanks for sharing Ginny. Praise God for His graciousness. I am glad they have grown even closer to God. I hope we all do that as we grow older.

Michael: Good article and I like the music. I needed encouragement too this week with my dad having the heart attack on Monday. God was gracious and he may go home today or tomorrow. Dad and Mom are in relatively good health for their ages but is painful to see them decline. The great news is that even though they are physcially declining, their closeness to God and Christ-like spirit shine even more through them than when they were younger. Ginny

Mike

I enjoyed your email this week, especially! Thank you for reminding me how we need to make our "church worship" more meaningful. I have had those same feelings when I enjoy nature.
